Stephanie Brooks is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at SkillZilla, an educational company whose mission is to empower parents and youth with the tools and resources they need to navigate these transformative years successfully and start off on the right foot while transitioning into the “wonderful” world of adulting.

With a background in journalism and a master’s degree in marketing, Stephanie is a hands-on marketing leader who is passionate about helping educational providers, startups, and non-profits.

She has over 20 years of professional experience in digital communications and marketing. Some of Stephanie’s well-known expertise includes digital marketing, social media, and search engine optimization (SEO).

Her current role at SkillZilla has allowed Stephanie’s passion for education and marketing to come together.

As CMO, Stephanie focuses on building awareness, creating ‘edutainment’ campaigns, and helping young adults learn to be their best selves.

When it comes to writing content that customers want to read, Stephanie shares:

"When writing content, I fall back on journalism 101: Who are you talking to? What are you trying to say? When is this happening? Where will it be read? Why should someone care? How do they take action? Answering those questions leads to content customers want to read."

She also explains how marketers should be thinking about content and the buyers’ journey:

"By the time a customer talks to us, they've already gone through the awareness and consideration phases and are digging deeper into the details to make a decision. Content should reflect where the buyer is at each stage and make them confident in purchasing your solution."
