Meet Umang Barman - VP of Marketing @ Balbix

Umang Barman is the Vice President of Marketing at Balbix, a company that enables organizations to reduce cyber risk by identifying and mitigating their riskiest cybersecurity issues faster.

Umang has over 10 years of experience in product marketing strategy and execution of security and privacy products. He has a strong background in GTM strategy, demand generation, content marketing, AR, and PR. 

Umang’s journey into marketing began with a startup where he did everything from marketing to sales. He later pursued formal marketing training in business school and worked as a product manager before transitioning into product marketing.

At Balbix, Umang is attracted to the mission-driven objective of protecting companies and organizations from cyber threats. He appreciates the opportunity to learn about the intersection of cybersecurity and AI while working in a collaborative environment.

When it comes to creating engagement using marketing, Umang shares:

"This is at the epicentre of marketing. There is no cookie cutter way to create engagement, it is trial and error. Great marketers fail a lot. We A/B test even the greatest campaign because it can be the smallest thing that drives that extra 1%."

He also shares about how to keep your brand fresh over time:

"Be relevant to the consumer at all times. If you understand what the consumer needs you'll always appear fresh. When you communicate a message that is targeted and relevant you'll get an engaged consumer that identifies with your brand."
